Starting on June 7th, Fridays just will get way more awesome! Each Friday during the summer, we will be going whitewater rafting on the mighty James River. Explore the wild rapids and the excitement of urban whitewater with the Outdoor Adventure Program and Recreational Sports. We will raft through Richmond and get to see all the wildlife that live so close to us in the city.
The trips go from 3pm-6pm every Friday until August 17th. Second best part about going on the trips is that is completely FREE!

The seasore of Assateague is callnig our names. Come out and learnt the basic skills of a kayaking adventure over the course of a few days. We will camp on the beaches, paddle through the wetlands, and if we are lucky, see some of the wild ponies as we make our way down the islands along the Virginia coast.
Cost: Student: $44, Faculty/Staff: $50, +1/A/G: $55

Enjoy a beautiful day out of the city at the Blue Ridge Mountains. This fall is the best time of year to enjoy the weather and views that West Virginia has to offer. Join us and the OAP for a full day of hiking and get the opportunity to see the all waterfalls and scenic vistas the winter has to offer.

Virginia Commonwealth University, Old Dominion University, and East Carolina University are hosting the Eastern Ridge Climbing Series for this fall and winter. Join us for one or all three of these events. An individual’s combined scores for all three events will determine the winner of the Eastern Edge Series!

All female guides will teach you basic climbing techniques, safety, equipment and belaying in a safe and trusting environment in Goshen Pass VA. This rock climbing/camping adventure on the weekend of November 2nd is designed for women and will help you gain confidence in your abilities. Price includes food, transportation, equipment and guides.

Spend the weekend of October 27 biking the scenic roadways of Eastern Virginia. We will ride at an easy pace each day with all of our gear on our bikes. At night we will camp, have dinner and hangout around the fire. Our experienced cycling staff will help with instruction, maintenance and encouragement!

Don’t let your fall break go to waste. Use it to get out of the city and enjoy the great outdoors! The OAP is heading out on a backpacking and a climbing trip, both set to leave on October 18.
The backpacking trip will be headed to Mount Rogers where we will climb to the highest peak in Virginia. This is a great opportunity to bet introduced to the world of backpacking.
Simultaneously the climbing trip will be going South East and will be spending time on some world-class rock. Each night we will camp and relax around the fire while eating some great food. All skill levels are encouraged to partake.
